Nyko is doubling the effectiveness of previous charging blocks. They are planning to add more slots and two more NiMH rechargeable battery packs. IN North America, during Christmas it will cost the consumers $49.99. The company is also planning to come with peripherals for the future now.

The Nunchuk adaptor and Wii mote has also come with updated batteries. Nintendo has bundle of games but it is impossible for gamers to utilize gamers to play with peripheral during time with game.  The only issue in batteries is the package has the little residue of plastic in it and it can’t be contacted with base station. Nyko is updating chargers and its good for users.

The NRDC has decided to check which console is eco friendly for users. In the past we came to know that Wii Fit has been nominated as the best eco friendly console. The Wii users only uses 16 watts compared to Xbox 360 which is using 119 watts and 150 watts of PS3. More than 40 percent of all homes in the United States contain at least one video electricity console. NRDC and Ecos consulting performed the study that video games consumed 16 billion kilowatt hours per year.

In this November, 2008 issue paper NRDC recommends users and suppliers for improving the efficiency of video games consoles that are already in homes and those will come in market in future.

Wii-Habilitation 11/16/2008

St. Mary’s Medical center uses the Wii Fit for Wii-Habilitation program. Most of the patients have benefited out of it. It helps patients in recovering from neurological injuries. Generally patients feel no pain while playing this game as their full concentration is in winning the game.

Each patients and workout is different, but it helps to engage patients for at least 15 to 30 minutes. Doctors prescribe the Wii Fit’s balance games and yoga for stroke and spinal injuries as well as the video puzzle game, Boom Blox for cognitive skills retraining. Though the hospital continues to use the weights and other therapeutic exercises, the Wii has become the most popular exerciser.

Hundreds and thousands of children could be left disappointed this Christmas since the most popular game; the Nintendo Wii Fit has run out at every shop in Britain. John Lewis, Woolworths, Argos, Game and Play.com have all run out of the stock. It has become the best console game of the country.

Analysts were amazed to see the highest number of searches for the game on Internet Group. However frustrated consumers are finding it impossible to get the Wii Fit. More than one million units have been sold in Britain since the end of April. It is going to be real difficult to get hands on the Wii Fit this holiday.

The Iowa State University’s Center made a research on The Study of Violence. The targets were the American and Japanese kids between the ages of 9 and 18. It took around 3 to 6 months to come down to the conclusion there was a link between aggression in this group and exposure to the violent video games.

They found out that those kids who were playing violent games were aggressive throughout the year. However they also say that not all the games are negatively affecting kids. Those games whose objective is to kill people have great influence but games like Wii and Wii Fit not only have great games that the entire family can play but they also make you active.

Be Or Not To Be? 11/09/2008

Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed that this time they will make sure that none of the customers go back empty handed from the store. For this they have also increased their production from 1.6 million units a month to 2.4 million units a month.

On a contrary due to the fall in Aussie dollars analysts predict that there might not be sufficient Wiis at stores. Two announcements and totally opposite, people are getting confused with this. Probably what I will suggest is that one should not take a risk and should go and buy Wii Fit from any store.

If EA’s chairman Strauss Zelnick’s proposal is anything to contemplate and consider, Wii Fit has a sure shot challenge on its hands to live up to. Undoubtedly Wii Fit has broken expectations and records of sales and customer satisfaction. It has been unimaginable success. But now, EA presents a viable challenge.

Wii Fit has had its restrictions; its focus on resistance training and balancing for once. It’s this lack that EA plans to cash in on. By attaching new peripherals, EA conceives attaching Wiimotes to users’ hands and legs and bring about greater movement capabilities. Higher intensity measurements and thrust calculations would be the mainstream concern with EA.

When firms are going bankrupt left and right, Nintendo is all set to declare profits this fiscal year. An achievement is such times, no less! A 345 billion yen profit to show in March 2009, the latest forecast might be 16 percent lower, but the overall forecast still remains a good 34 percent above the previous fiscal year’s forecasts.

Satoru Iwata, President Nintendo, claims to have ever-increasing demands of the Wii console as well as the Wii Fit from America, Australia and the UK. Almost 100,000 units each week sells in the USA alone. The next market is said to be Asia, though that piece of fact comes with no elaboration.
