According to the NPD survey, Nintendo is responding to sales figures in December 2008 in America and declared that they have made record breaking sales for both Wii and Nintendo DS. 2008 is the best year for Nintendo after the sales of the Wii. Nintendo DS has reached 10.17 million and 9.95 million units respectively in America.

Nintendo is also pointing out those software sales. The platform is very strong with the top four selling games of 2008 all on the Wii. The Wii is also becoming the first video game system after selling over 10 million units in a calendar in America. Wii Music has now sold 865,000 units in the US and Mario Kart DS.
