The top 20 look showed that more than half of the bestselling games from the January were on Nintendo hardware. The nine Wii games and two Nintendo DS games are also in the list. Anita Frazier is observing that only two of the 10 games for the month were released.

Videogames and fitness for seniors is now joining the Senior Center with the donation of two Nintendo Wii gaming systems. There are various Wii sessions going on. On Friday Wii Session was a part of a continuing series which the center was offering to help city seniors. They want seniors with good health and fit too. According to the NPD survey, Nintendo is responding to sales figures in December 2008 in America and declared that they have made record breaking sales for both Wii and Nintendo DS. 2008 is the best year for Nintendo after the sales of the Wii. Nintendo DS has reached 10.17 million and 9.95 million units respectively in America.

Nintendo is also pointing out those software sales. The platform is very strong with the top four selling games of 2008 all on the Wii. The Wii is also becoming the first video game system after selling over 10 million units in a calendar in America. Wii Music has now sold 865,000 units in the US and Mario Kart DS.

According to NPD analyst Michael Klotz who is the top ten SKUs for Wii is driving 44 percent of the sales for the whole market in 2008. The sales in the games are Mario Kart Wii, Wii Play and Wii Fit, the basic thing is that they all belong to Nintendo Wii. The Wii title has become success mark for all. NPD has already made it crystal clear that in 2005 the top 20 SKU is accounting for 11 percent of the total sales.

With so much slowdown in the market, it will be a great surprise that there's a cut throat competition for market dominance being raised between the "big three" console manufacturers. The malicious market has annoyed the gamers. Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are pitted against each other in a battle over who can win the hearts along with the cash of the gamers.
